Lagunitas Censored Copper Ale
We love when the beer truck brings us new goodies. We’ve been without Lagunitas Censored for a little while to make room for some holiday ales, but we’re excited to have this rich malty beer back in stock. It starts out hoppy, with a nice caramel malt flavor coming through as it warms up. 6.4% ABV
We have a new arrival as well.
Bell’s Winter White Ale. A Wheat Ale brewed with American Wheat and a proprietary blend of Hefe and classic Belgian-style yeasts. A refreshing winter alternative created from the subtle fusion of two classic flavors. 4.9% ABV

Rain

Meditation
Rebecca Carey has been developed an immediately recognizable style while communicating a broad, sensual range of emotions with her exquisitely rendered trees. Each painting offers rewards for those who glance and treasures for those willing to bear witness to the intricate details and layers of realism and whimsy. Ms. Carey’s trees will be hanging at Vine and Bean Cafe through the end of February, 2010.

There’s hardly a prettier place to sit on a cold and snowy day than our parlor. We’re keeping the fireplace and candles lit to fight off the cold and dark and pouring generous helpings of hot coffee, tea and hot chocolate…oh and those creamy Momma Mochas.
This weekend you can also hear to very talented acts that are Vine and Bean regulars.
Friday, January 8: Elliot Ingersoll
Smart, funny, engaging singer/song-writer, Elliot Ingersoll will be making us laugh and cry with his wit and wisdom on Friday.
Saturday, January 9: DBC/La Vie
This funky folk quartet returns to give us a New Year’s dose of rhythm, song, joy, and community. Lynn Haney and Marcia Steele lead their sweet band through an evening of rich musicality.

We do appreciate all the support we receive from the Cleveland press and the dedication that local writers have towards advancing and trumpeting great food in Cleveland.
Cleveland Magazine gave us a shout out for adding the Reuben to our menu. (Very nice on a cold and snowy day).
Laurel Taxel also did a very nice piece on one of our heroes, Parker Bosley. He’s been talking about farm-fresh food for decades. He gets a tribute dinner that includes the talents of some of Cleveland’s best chef, including our own Heather Haviland.

Chef Heather and Chef Ky-Wai have been adding new items to the menu here, both vegetarian and omnivore, but all made from scratch and from local ingredients whenever possible. The winter menu becomes a showcase for the richer things for the palate, sauces made from items picked months ago and carefully preserved, and the taste combinations that make everyone say “cozy.”
Come by, bring the family, and delight in the winter menu additions:
- All local beef chili, in a cup, bowl, or dinner portion, served with white cheddar, sour cream, housemade croutons, scallions, and a side of our housemade focaccia.
- Pizzas made on our flatbread, including a number of warm and wonderful taste combinations like ratatouille and pesto or mushroom paté and Brie.
- Vegetarian lasagne with roasted vegetables (including my favorite, asparagus) and our housemade red sauce.
- All local beef meatloaf with fingerling mashed potatoes and mushroom gravy
- Curry: Yukon Gold potatoes and vegetables simmered in coconut curry sauce over brown Basmati rice
- The Reuben: We brine the corned beef, we brine the sauerkraut, we bake the bread. We make our own Thousand Island dressing from our own ketchup and mayonnaise. We even grow cucumbers to make the pickles for the Thousand Island dressing.
During the next two weeks we’ll be serving brunch Saturday and Sunday as well as Friday, January 1st, from 11AM to 2PM. We can accommodate your family and guests. Just give us a call 20 minutes before you come with parties larger than six (6) so we can reserve you a comfy spot.

Troubadours of Divine Bliss - Yes, they are this colorful!
This is a big week for us at Vine and Bean. We’re all decked out for the Solstice, with lights and greenery; we’ve added a full slate of items to the food, beer, and wine menus to help us all get through the cold winter; and we’ve got some of our favorite musicians passing through the parlor to help us gather near and share some merry moments.
Thursday, December 17: Troubadours of Divine Bliss
We ecstatically welcome back our favorite wayward sisters to the Vine and Bean musical womb. With guitar, accordion and harmonies smooth as Kentucky bourbon, the Troubadours will dazzle and charm.
Audiences and the press around the world have lauded these two as the best new folk act in a long time, with deft musicality and the performance chops of witty sprite-vixens, this is a show not to be missed!

Angels we have heard on...well something. We love the Troubadors
Friday, December 18: Wine Tasting & Ryann Guitar Anderson
Start the evening early by coming to our winter celebratory wine tasting event that will present a number of wines and liquors selected to be excellent gifts for friends, hosts, or anyone on your list with a a taste for fine spirits. Then, at 8PM, Ryann Anderson will begin an evening of guitar beauty. Ryann, an instrumental guitarist, has developed his playing style by combining several musical styles & genres, but yet he stands apart as a original musician. His live performances may consist of soothing folk influenced pieces that remind you of Nick Drake & Leo Kottke, romantic classical inspired interludes, & even blues & reggae improvisations. Many have considered his music to be like ice cream to your ears!

Saturday, December 19: Angie Haze
With her passionate lyrics and capturing hooks, singer/songwriter, Angie Haze (a.k.a. Angela Cevasco), delivers a satisfying taste for soulful tunes. Her music career began at the age of 17 when she released her first Independent album entitled, F.L.Y. by Angela, consisting of 12 of her original songs. Angie has performed many shows such as First Night and Lock 3 Downtown Akron, Breastfest (a benefit concert for breast cancer) in Cleveland, and many other charity and benefit concerts.
