Elliot Ingersoll returns to Vine and Bean with his Freethought Folk. He likes to write about gods/goddesses, philosophy, altered states and occasionally psychology.
Saturday, September 26: Gene’s Jazz Hot
In the fall of 2004 Gene Epstein assembled a small group of musicians to play a benefit. Though strangers at the start of the gig, they could tell something special had occurred and Gene’s Jazz Hot was born. Cafe Limbo , a then popular Cleveland vegetarian restaurant was their home until it closed in August 2007. Wanting to keep them in the neighborhood, they were invited to play down the street at Loganberry Books on the second Thursday of the month. Gene’s Jazz Hot also plays for concerts, art openings, house parties and other fun events.
Well, the Cafe Limbo property is now Vine and Bean Cafe, so this is a bit of a homecoming for Gene and the band.
Gene’s Jazz Hot plays jazz from the swing era with their own special energy, excitement and humor. They call it: “seriously happy, swinging music”.
