Galgozy/Zeleny Duo

Galgozy/Zeleny Duo
is a wonderful fusion of original songs and traditional styles. Forming in 2008, the duo from the beginning has been in demand for their lilting and progressive sound. This duet is fast becoming a recognized musical experience.
The 35-year difference in their ages is in itself unusual, but the common musical interests they share spans decades of American folk art. Their original songs balance words and melody, songs that have a high degree of creativity and spontaneity – no doubt why folks of all ages are coming to see these two very talented and imaginative musicians. As they weave their ever-expanding repertoire, they bridge the ever-widening cultural gap and leave a memorable musical impression and a sense of community.
Dale Galgozy is a master traditional musician, songwriter and a guitarist of many styles, including fingerstyle-blues, jazz-swing, rock and folk. A skilled vocalist and arranger, Dale Galgozy is a full time professional musician and a dedicated guitar teacher. Performing throughout Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, New York and Indiana since 1987 and an Ohio Arts Council recipient from 1994-2006, his progressive contemporary acoustic music has traditional roots and yet is free and playful.
Adreanne Zeleny is one of Northeast Ohio’s young creative talents, a master of various guitar styles, including fingerstyle-blues, folk and rock and a superb songwriter, session player and bassist. Adreanne Zeleny invents symphonic lines that complement every song and reflect a high degree of devotion to the music she creates.
These two artists are beyond any preconception of contemporary folk music. With the virtuosity found in classical music, the freedom of jazz and the straightforward vocals of traditional music, their artistic achievements are not to be taken lightly.

Saturday, Sept 19: The Fireman’s Daughter with special guest Corrisa

The Firemans Daughter from Nashville, TN

The Fireman's Daughter from Nashville, TN

The Fireman’s Daughter is a female Americana duo based out of Nashville, Tennessee. The two members are comprised of Catie Flynn and Alex Kline. With the combination of Catie’s soulful vocals and Alex’s roots based guitar playing, the Fireman’s Daughter sound is best described as the result of the love child of Patty Griffin and David Rawlings. Catie and Alex met while studying music in Boston; they became fast friends and then moved together to Nashville in 2008 to pursue their careers. All of the band material is written by Catie and Alex. Their writing is a truthful combination of storytelling and raw emotion, with melodic underpinnings that highlight the lyrics. Instruments they employ vary among acoustic and electric guitar. Mandolin, banjo, harmonica, lap steel, and even a pink Barbie toy piano.
