The Good Old Days Are Back!..Friday March 6

Two Man Gentlemen Band

Two Man Gentlemen Band

These times are hard, no doubt. And sometimes you can be forgiven for thinking about days of yore when things were simpler, when men wore hats and when the banjo was really really sexy. Well, somethings never change. This Friday we’re hosting the only band touring today with a song that’s a commentary on William Howard Taft – ever-so apt in Ohio, Two Man Gentleman Band from that big town NYC – but with their touring schedule it’s probably been a century since they saw Manhattan.  I caught them at the notorious Cave in Chapel Hill. They charmed the socks off even the most gristled long-neck drinker. They’ll fit in pretty darn well in the Vine and Bean parlor. I would be wrong not to also mention that there may be free kazoos involved.

We are also fortunate to have the last moment addition of Pokey LaFarge. If there was ever a time when Riverboat Soul might enjoy a resurgence it is now.

So I saw these guys play last night in Alliance, and there’s a solid chance that I’ll play it groupie-style and stalk them all the way to Cleveland. These guys are some excellent musicians, and won’t disappoint!
